Does your firm specialize in filling certain types of positions? CuttingEdge has been known to specialize in filling sales, sales management, business development, account management, project management and marketing positions.

What types of companies or industry sectors do you specialize in? The industry sectors we have been most popular in servicing has been in the digital space. We have worked in partnership with start ups, and established companies seeking experienced candidates in online media, digital solutions, e-commerce and more. While our primary focus is in the interactive arena, we do work with some traditional firms as well. In addition, we are presently in the process of building relationships with companies within the green space.

How long has your company been in business? CuttingEdge was founded in 1997. In this past decade our company has been part of an incredible and booming internet economy that created an explosion of new and exciting job opportunities straight through to the internet bust, and 9/11. Like many, we have experienced extremely challenging times over this last decade. These ups and downs dramatically effected the New York job marketplace causing a variety of companies to close shop. Candidates in need of jobs have been forced to make drastic career changes, take huge salary cuts, relocate to other cities, and adapt to a wide variety of cultural changes within the workplace. These ongoing changes in our personal and professional lives have been the impetus for many to rethink how we choose to live our lives, earn a living, spend our money, and simply put, prioritize one's values. We hope that our genuine approach to helping companies and candidates grow even in the face of advertisity reflects our loyalty and passion to the business of helping people.

What skill set do I require to apply for a position at CuttingEdge? Generally speaking, if you have experience in selling online advertising, our firm is a good place for you to begin your search. Of course, each of our client's have special requirements and qualifications depending upon the position. We do work with other sales organizations outside of online media, but the interactive industry sector has been known to be our niche. However, if you are outgoing, driven and fully committed to sales, we would be happy to chat.

How many years of experience is required? It depends upon the position, and the employer's needs. Some of our positions require 2 years of experience while our more senior level positions may require 10-20 years of employment experience.

Do I have to have a college degree? Having a formal education is as they say, "a feather in your cap". However, there are circumstances where industry specific experience may be equally acceptable.

Do you handle temporary and part time jobs? There are occasions when our client's will require an interim person.

Will you write our resume? Yes, we have professional resume writers at your disposal.

Since sales opportunities are the bulk of what you do, do the employers pay a base salary + commission, or is it commission only? We do not work with an organization that will pay a commission only. Either they pay a base salary + commission or a draw versus commission arrangement.

Do I need to provide references? Yes, it is essential that we receive 2 professional references before we can begin a job search for you.  We require references from individuals to whom you have reported to.

Do I pay a fee? No, the organization that hires you pays the fee.

Do you have coaching services to assist me in honing my sales skills, and or interviewing skills? Yes, once you become a CuttingEdge candidate you will receive our support to help you land the job. From role playing to hand holding if necessary, we are here to help!

How do I know which recruiter to work with? It is about personality, honesty, and efficiency. If you like the personality of the recruiter you are speaking with and you feel he or she has your best interest at heart, that is a very good start.
